Major construction work starts on Bank Street Park
Construction is underway at Bank Street Park, delivering new green open spaces, shaded areas and public amenities for the local community.
BESIX Watpac has been appointed to construct the new park, which will provide the local community with a playground, fitness station, multipurpose court, public amenities, new footpaths and cycleways and better access to the water for recreational paddle craft.
Construction activities planned for the next couple of months will include:
- Establishing secure hoarding and fencing around the site
- Setting up the site office and installing site signage
- Connecting to services, such as power and water
- Demolition of structures
- Establishment of noise, dust and asbestos management controls
- Management of existing trees, including retention and protection, with some removals required
to support construction.
The project is expected to be open in 2027.
