New public infrastructure delivered first, including a park at Bank Street, waterfront promenade and boardwalk
The 10.4ha precinct of land and water has been rezoned to transform into a connected, vibrant and diverse mixed-use community. The renewal is set to deliver around 5,600 new jobs, over 1,200 homes, 3.4ha of public open space and is conveniently located within walking distance of attractions and transport.
With the iconic development of the new Sydney Fish Market already underway, an experienced development partner is being sought to transform the existing Sydney Fish Market site into a world-class waterfront destination as part of the broader Blackwattle Bay Precinct.
Surrounding the southern pylons of the Anzac Bridge, a new waterfront park at Bank Street will be an inviting, inclusive and adaptable space that celebrates First Nations culture, maritime history and its landscape. Until the park starts construction, a Pop-up Park is open for the community to enjoy.
A new boardwalk and foreshore promenade will complete one of the world’s longest and most beautiful continuous waterfront walks, 15km in length.
The new Sydney Fish Market is under construction. Set to be the biggest fish market in the Southern Hemisphere, and estimated to attract 6 million visitors a year, it will offer a variety of fresh seafood, plus restaurants, cafés, bars and specialty food retailers.
